Linger - fifth and last post

Now I´ve finished the book and I’m not going to retell everything that I’ve read because in the Easter holiday I’ve read over 300 pages. The last chapters went past very fast because I just wanted to know the solution of the story and how the whole book would end. But I noticed that after four weeks of reading in English I’ve become more and more comfortable  with the language and less and less used to read Swedish texts.
The book starts with “This is the story about a boy who used to be a wolf and a girl who was becoming one.” I´ve thought a lot about that line because Maggie Stiefvater has chosen to end “Linger” with the exact same line as in the beginning. When I read it on the first page I thought about what she wanted me to think, which conclusions did she want me to make? My thoughts went wild about what she really meant with that line as her story starter. She must be really smart to put that sentence first in the book. After that you desperately need to read on to see what she means. And you get your answer in the last two chapters so you’re eager to read all the time.  I got a little annoyed about it because she hadn’t written anything about Grace was near to shift into a werewolf in the first book. It came as a lightning from clear sky for me, as you would say in Swedish. But now afterwards I think it was that sentence that made “Linger” my temporary drug. Even though I later on forgot the sentence and got completely overwhelmed by the story.
I can’t wait until July 12th this summer when the third and last book in the series releases. And I’ve decided that I’m going to read it in English because everything felt more closely described and well written than when I read “Frost”. But also because it’s so much fun reading and learning English! J (Or it’s because the book won’t show up in stores on Swedish much later than the English one…) I’ve also considered reading “Linger” and “Forever” (the third book) in Swedish so I can compare if the English version really is better than the Swedish. Maybe I will keep reading in English after that.
I’m still stuck in Maggie Stiefvater’s way of writing. She catches that specific emotion and creates the perfect balance of the environment and the characters behavior in every situation in an excellent way. Now when I’ve started to read a new book I think the “new” author is far behind in her writing skills. But maybe I hadn’t thought that way if I hadn’t been reading Linger by wonderful Maggie Stiefvater.

Dead until dark - fifth and last post

The girl Bill brought into the bar was a gift from Eric, a thanks for helping out. Bill had her sent back, and Sookie and Bill went on a date.
Afterwards Bill drop Sookie of at her place. When Bill had left and when Sookie had just shut the door something hit it. It was her cat, killed by strangling. Sookie was worried that a murderer was nearby. The same murderer that had killed Maudette, Dawn and Sookies´ grandmother.

A few nights later Bill tell Sookie he have to leave for a few days. He leaves a friend behind to keep Sookie safe from the murderer. The friend was called Bubba, and he was very familiar. Ha was a singer when he was a human but he was never the same after becoming a vampire. He was the one and only king. He was Elvis Presley.

One night Sookie met a collie outside Merlotte´s. It was homeless so Sookie brought it home. Later the dog fell asleep next to Sookie. In the morning it was not a dog laying in the bed beside her, but a human. It was Sam, her boss. At first she freaks out but when she calms down Sam tell her hi is a shape shifter. Sookie is mad at him because he intruded on her personal life, so she threw him out.

Some nights later Sookie heard something outside her window. She got up to see what it was. Nothing! Sookie was worried, and Bubba was nowhere to be seen. She decided to call the police but her phone was dead. The closest house was Bills´. She decided to run through the woods and over the cemetery.
The killer catch up to her, it was Rene Lainer. He attacks, still with vampire blood in her system she fights back when he tries to kill her. Sookie stabs him with a knife she managed to take from him. Then she manage to get to Bills´ house, and dial 911 before she colaps.

She wakes up in the hospital where the police tell her that Rene has been caught. Later Bill comes to visit to make sure she is all right. Eric and Sam also make a quick and odd stop by.

That's where the story ends.

In this book the vampires live among humans, they can even order blood in bars. The reason to why Rene kill people was because they where fang bangers, people who sleep with vampires. The first one he killed was his one sister.

As I mentioned before the book stayed interesting and I hope the others will to. I liked the book, and the story was well thought through.

Here is a list of following books.

Living dead in Dallas
Club dead
Dead to the world
Dead as a doornail
Definitely dead
All together dead
From dead to worse
Dead and gone
A touch of dead

Uglies - fourth and last post

Uglies – last post

Since the last time I wrote I have read more than 350 pages and I have to say that this is a very good book! I can really recommend it to you, but don´t try to read it in Swedish, I did and it wasn´t so very good. This book is split into 3 parts I think, so I don´t know how it ends. But here is the summary of the first book.
After Tally has been out in the wild for about 10 days she gets to the Smoke. There everybody is welcoming her and Shay is very happy that she has come. She meets David and they are showing her around in the Smoke. When Tally was in the interrogation room with the leader of the cruel pretties, she received a bracelet with an "alarm" so she could push it when she had arrived to the Smoke and the cruel pretties would be there in a couple of hours. But when she got there she realized that she couldn´t do it. She wanted to stay there in the smoke and live with the smokies and with David because she had fallen in love with him. But Shay and David was sort of together already and Shay became very angry with Tally when she realized that they now were together. Then by a mistake Tally set the alarm on and the next day the cruel pretties were all over the place and caught the smokies and burned the place down. But Tally succeeded to escape and she found David who had also escaped. Together they returned to Tallys hometown to save some of the prisoners that the cruel pretties had taken, for example David´s parents and Shay. But when they got there they discovered that David´s father was dead and Shay has been operated into a pretty. But still they managed to escape and they traveled to the Rusty Ruins, and now a rumor has spread that a new Smoke is going to be made and a lot of uglies from the dorm is traveling there just to be a part of it. David´s parents had for a long time ago come up with a theory about that when you is operated you get a sort of virus stuck into your brain that makes not only the outside beautiful, the inside is changing to. You will become a totally different person, and that is what Shay has become now. She thinks that the Smoke is stupid and she just wants to party the whole time. But David´s mom thinks that she has found a cure to the virus and she wants to test it on Shay, but Shay doesn´t want that and David´s mom don´t want to force her because it's a small chance that something can go wrong. Tally then feel her guiltiness for that she has betrayed the smoke, David and Shay so she says that she will be operated into a pretty and then David can rescue her and they will give here the pills to cure the virus. And the book ends with that Shay and Tally comes into the town, and a guard sees them and she says: "I´m Tally Youngblood, make me pretty".

I think that this book is really good! It reflects on what could happened in the future if we not are careful with our planet and our way of locking on each other. I think that the writer did a good point when she wrote about anorexia and thickness and when Shay said that she couldn´t understand how we wanted to look like that it also made a good point.  I think that it is important to notice where our society is going and attended specially the young, unsecure people who hasn´t any confidence and say to them that they are beautiful as they are.
This week I haven´t got any experience of my one to relate to, but I have one thing. Tally's and David's relationship is so very special and exiting and that is a thing I hope to experience some day, a true love with a little troubles.

This book is really great, like I said earlier, and I´m going to read the rest of the books in this series and then I´m going to post my view of the books on this blog!
This was all from me, love from Kråkfot.

Linger - fourth post

This was supposed to be my last text about this book but since I’ve not even read less than half of the book I will write a short last post next week on the Easter holiday.
This time I read about 40 pages and Sam has become nineteen. Grace thought of surprising him on his work with a romantic take-away dinner. But then she realized there is no such place near Mercy Falls, so she went to Subway. Not that romantic but better than nothing. Since Grace’s parents like Sam less and less, so instead of going home they stayed in the bookstore on the private loft.
On Grace’s birthday, the same year as the two of them met, Sam read his favorite poem to Grace. Since then she’s started to read poetry and really liked it. She wanted to thank Sam so she lighted some candle sticks, turned off the lights and laid a paper in his hand. There was a written text by Grace that said that Sam was paid for a singing audition I Duluth.
Sam’s biggest hobby is to sing and play the guitar so he got completely overwhelmed. But the same night, when they were going to bed Grace was very hot. And in the middle of the night Sam woke up by the sound of a screaming and crying Grace. He puts his hand on her forehead and she was burning hot but it was something else to…
She smelled strongly of wolf! When you’re near to change into a wolf you smell like a it.  And in the first book you get to know that Grace had been bitten by a wolf. Later she got looked in their car by her dad. It was so hot that she was cured from being a werewolf. To make Sam cured; they got him a malaria injection when he was transformed into a wolf. At the same time they tried to cure Isabel´s brother but he didn´t make it in his human body.  Sam won’t believe that he no longer transforms into a wolf on the cold parts of the year. But he is still not shore of the cure and worries about it almost all the time. You could say that Sam was prepared that something bad would happen.
When Sam tries to calm Grace, who is asleep sleep, Grace’s parents come into the room and sees Sam in there. They didn’t know he has slept there for the last two months.
Grace’s father tells Sam to go home, away from their house and to think about if he really should contact Grace again. The Brisbane family went to the hospital though both Sam and Grace try to explain the situation. None of the parents were open for any suggestions what so ever. So when Grace needs Sam the most, he has no choice than drive to his own home.
But where is his home? He’s always been at Grace’s place and he was adapted to Mercy Falls so he can’t go to his parents. He decides to go to the bookstore but change his mind and turns the car to the wolf packs house in the woods. There he meets Isabel and the new member of the pack, Cole. Isabel explains that he can’t stay at her place. Her parents will go nuts if they see him so he needs to stay in the house. Like Sam doesn’t have enough of problems as it is! Cole gets a bed and then both guys go to sleep.
In the morning when Sam has gone to work, Cole decides to sneak around a bit. He wants to know more about Sam. In a drawer in the desk he finds Sam’s adoption papers, some documents that say that the house belongs to him and Beck and an article from a newspaper. The text is about why Sam was adopted. His parents had tried to kill him in the bathtub by cutting his wrists with a razorblade. When Cole takes a look at the photos in the house he can see the scares on Sam’s arms. And suddenly Cole doesn’t feel that sorry for himself anymore.
I haven’t got to know Cole so much, but when I read this chapter about Cole’s little mission, I realized I don’t know so much about Sam either. But I still feel like I know Sam extremely well. The author, Maggie Stiefvater, is amazing and she succeeds to write in a way that I can make my own conclusion of Sam.  In my opinion he’s that guy every girl really needs. A guy that’s caring, fun, intelligent, gorgeous (oh yes, he’s very good looking in my mind), confident and radiates calmness around him, but still feels mysterious. If a guy like this is available, I’m the first in line. I really hope these three books will affect the rest of the world and that some good director can make films of them. I will be the first in that line too!

Stormbreaker - fourth and last post

Stormbreaker

A summary of what I have read
In the end he found a way in too the room, when he was in the room he saw the computers,, something was put in the computers but just when he stood there someone grabbed his shoulder, Alex turned around he had a gun in he's hand.
-How are you? He asked
-I'm staying whit Sayler. Alex answered.
The Alex hit the man and run, he have to found a way out. He thought that no one had seen him but then the alarm went on, he run and found a door when he came out he found that he had came were Nadia had found him the first day he was at Sayler Enterprises. He went to he room to get his stuff, when he went out from the room Mr Grin hit him and everything went black.. When he wake up again to men get him to bring him to Mr Sayle. Mr Sayle asked three questions.
      -    Who are you?
-Who have sent you here?
-Who much do you know?
Alex answered
-My name is Alex Rider
-The same people who have send Ian Rider here.
-You have something to do with a real viruses you put it in the computer but I don't know what's next but I guess that when the computers turned on people die and because it's in school it will be school children who die.
Sayler clap his hands and start to tell Alex everything. That he was bullied in school and the boy that bullied him the most grow up to be the prime minster, and he tell Alex that when the computers starts it will kill every school child in the country. When he have tell Alex everything they put him in to a aquarium with a deadly jellyfish. But Alex wasn't stupid he had a cream that he got when he would go here, the cream can burn through every metal. So he took the cream and put it along the edges of the aquarium the glass broke and Alex gets out. He run out and found that a helicopter was about to lift he went into it and when he was in it he use an other thing he got before he get to Sayler Enterprises. It was a pen you could use to get people do what ever you want them to do. So Alex use it on Mr Grin who was flying the helicopter and he said that Mr Grin should fly him to London as fast as he could. When they was in London Alex jumped out off the helicopter and throw out the parachute. He fall down through the glass and in to the room and just when the prime minster should press the button Alex took out a gun and shout  the first shot hit now where the second hit the prime minster in his finger just when he should press the button the third shot hit the button the fourth shot  hit an electrical contact and the fifth and sixth shot hit Sayler when he was on he's why to press the button on he's own. After that everyone looked at Alex and when Alex looked around he couldn't see Sayle randy were, he was gone. Alex went to the MI6 office and there Mr Blunt thank him for what he had done and said to him that he should went back to school and that if they need him again they will contact him. But when Alex went out and jumped in to a taxi it was Herod Sayle in the car, he had a gun in he's hand and he told Alex that if he moved he will shoot him. They drove to a glass-fronted skyscraper, they went up to the top and there it was a helicopter and Mr Sayler told Alex that he will leave England and that this was the end for Alex. But just went Sayler should shoot Alex, Yassen Gregorovich came out of the helicopter and shoot Sayler. Then he fly away.. And that was the end.

What I think about what I have read and the book
This was the most exciting part of the whole book so much happened and that Alex saved the whole country, it must been cool. But in the end I was very surprised that Yassen Gregorovich help Alex and saved his life. I very like this book a lot but it's kind of boring that I already have seen the movie so I know a little about what would happened, but that didn't matter for me I still think the book was exciting and every think that happened in the book didn't happened in the movie.

Stormbreaker - fourth and last post

Summary page 170 to 236

This time has Alex found the mine and he is walking in the tunnel. His only help was the map which Ian rider had draw.

Alex walked and walked and he couldn't see anything and he felt that the tunnel was just getting smaller and smaller. Suddenly Alex felt that he shoes was getting wet, he felt on the ground and noticed that he were standing in water.

The water was just getting deeper and deeper and suddenly Alex had to take a deep breath and swim under the water. He swam for at least 2 minutes but it felt as 2 hours. But after a while could he breathe again.

Alex reached a door and he opened it. Suddenly he could see again. After a while Alex remembered that Ian had done some research on computer viruses. Then he realized that, that was what Sayle was doing. He will kill thousands of children.

Alex had been noticed, a guard sneaked up behind him. But the guard was too close to Alex so even though he had a gun he was an easy match for Alex.
Alex needed to get back to his room but he couldn't swim under the water for such a long time again. But it was one other door across the room; He had to go for it.

There were a couple of guards on the other side of the room and Yassen the contract killer. Alex ran across the room, he knew that he had been seen. He saw one of the silver bags and ran and opened one of them and took out a cup. It was probably very important because everyone stopped and told him to be careful.

Alex saw his shoot; he backed slowly to the door and opened it and threw the cup to Yassen. He ran out but Mr. Grin Salyes assistant stood in his way.
Mr. Grin took him to Sayle, and the first thing he said was'' Who do you work for? How much do you know? Alex didn't tell him directly but after a while he had to say it or else he would die.

He said, I know everything and I work for the m16. At the beginning Sayle laughed but when he was done he told Alex his plane. He had put a computer virus in the computer so when the computers go online every schoolchild will die because every school in the country got a Stormbreaker computer.

Alex asked why he would do that. Sayle gladly answered, when I was a kid I was bullied. And after a while was I adopted and had to go to England. I was very happy but the first day as I got to school I was bullied again. And do you know who the worst of the bullies grew up to be? , the prime minister of England.

I have planned my revenge all these years. And guess who will press the bottom that makes all the computers go online, the prime minister. It all will happen tomorrow.
Sayle left and let Mr. Grin take care of Alex. He kept Alex for a long time but Alex succeed to break free and beat down Mr. Grin.

Alex ran after Sayle and he manage to get to the place where the prime minister should press the bottom. At the last second Alex took one of the guards gun and shoot on the bottom, luckily it broke.

Sayle ran away and flew up in a tower and Alex was right behind him. Alex couldn't find Sayle so he went outside and when he wasn't ready Sayle putted Alex in the back so that he felled down.
On the way down Alex grabbed a rod. He was now hanging a few hundred meters up in the air. Sayle walked to him laughing at the same time.
Both of them heard a noise, it was helicopter with Yassen in it. Yassen shot Sayle and grabbed Alex hand and helped him up.

Alex was very angry at Yassen because he killed Ian but Alex couldn't do anything. But he had saved every schoolchild in England, m16 and jack stood on the ground and was very happy and proud.

I think the book was very good. But some chapters were better than others. I really recommend  to read the book.

Coraline - third post

Summary

Okay… so Coraline is trapped in the mirror in the end of the corridor. And she was almost ready to cry, when she heard something. Was it a voice?
-          Hush! And shush say nothing for the beldam can hear you! Said the random voice in the dark.
And suddenly, Coraline felt someone touched her shoulder. Then another voice said
-          Are you alive?
-          Yes… answered Coraline.
-          Poor child said the first voice again.
-          Who are you? Asked coralline.
-          Names, names, names said one of the voices, all far away and lost. The names are the first things to go, after the breath is gone, and the beating of the heart. We keep our memories longer than our names. I still keep pictures of my real mother… told the first voice.
Coraline listen, and began to see something in the dark.  She thought she saw three pale shapes, three children in her own age, one boy and two girls and they were ghosts. And they told Coraline that the other mother had treated them, like she does with Coraline, she also took their hearts and souls and then she leaved them in the dark mirror.
-          You must flee! Flee while you can! Said one of the ghost girls.
-          No, I'm not running away! She has my parents!
The ghost tries to prevail Coraline to listen and that it's impossible, but she won't stay. And when they realized that, they asked if Coraline could free their souls instead which the other mother had taken.
-          But what is the other mother going to do with me? Asked Coraline.
-          She will take your life and all you cares for, she will leave you here, and one day you´ll awake and your heart and soul will be gone. So you must flee! Answered one of the ghosts.
-          No, I'm tired of running away, it doesn't work anyway said Coraline.
And the last thing, the ghosts told Coraline before she fell asleep was:
-          Look through the stone with the hole in it.

In this chapter of the book describes Neil Gaiman the environment around Coraline very good.
So good that you can almost se it with your own eyes.  And it's so exciting to read the book! It always happens things you never could imagine, almost scary and nasty stuffs thou.
Sometimes It gives me shivers, and I want to put the book behind me on my ´wardrobe, but I can't because its so exciting!  But now, back to the summery, when Coraline gets out of the mirror…

Well, the other mother had pushed away the magic mirror portal and starred down at Coraline when she was asleep. And picked her up and carried her to the kitchen and dropped her on a chair.
Coraline woke up and discovered that she was in the kitchen with the other mother.  She got breakfast and ate it up. Then she asked if the other mother wanted to play a game, but not an ordinary game, it was an exploring game. Coraline challenged the other mother just as the cat told her to do, and offered herself as a price if she would lose. But if she won, Coraline wanted her parents back and the ghosts in the mirror released.
-          A deal, and it won't hurt you … said the other mother.
-          So, where should I start looking, said Coraline.
-          Where you wish, answered the other mother like she didn't care. She sat down on a chair and looked at Coraline, while she tapped the fingers gently, tap-tap-tap, against the table.
Coraline turned around for a second and when she looked back was the other mother gone, and realized that the tap-tap noise came from the water tap. Coraline shivered and took up the stone with the hole in it, and walked upstairs to her room, but she didn't find anything. So she went outside instead.
And walked to Miss Spink and Miss Forcible´s flat. (The other two old ladies who lived in the same house as Coraline) she went down the steps and trough the door. It was as dark as the grave in there, and she didn't see Miss Spink or Forcible. She went in to the great theatre hall, and looked up to the ceiling. There was something who hang there. It looked liked dog-bats, dogs with wings like bats and who hanged upside-down.
And then at the middle of the stage was something else. Coraline remembered the ghost voice who told her to look through the stone. So she put the stone in front of her eye and looked through it. And then she saw a green light from the stage. There was something behind the back wall. It was grayish-white and big. Coraline walked forward to the thing. And she was very scared. She got closer to the thing, it looked like a sac like a spider´s egg-case. And inside the sac was something that looked like a person, but a person with two hands…

Okay, I have read this far and I can nearly stop. It's so exciting! And I don't know what to expect. As I said earlier you can´t imagine what will happened next. But I fell like something important and big will happen.
And when it happen maybe someone will come and save her, or maybe she gets out of it by her own. I don't know but I can't wait to find out! So you will see what happened to Coraline in my next post.

Vampire Diaries - third and last post

For the last post I?ve been thinking of describe the community where
everything is happening ? Mystic Falls. The name is describing the
village/community-not-so-very-unlike-Knivsta-place in a good way. It is
mysterious, cozy and in the middle of nowhere. Well it?s not very far from
Georgia I think, but everything you can see if you look to the north, south,
east and west is wood. How cozy isn?t that when you?ve got vampires, witches,
wizards and werewolves all around yourself?
Well, Mystic Falls contains a great school where all the students are going. It?
s made of bricks and how the school is, isn?t unlike how usual American schools
are. When I think of an American school the first thing I?m thinking of are the
American football-teams and all the cheerleaders. That?s exactly how this
school is ? the cool guys are playing football and the beautiful girls are all
cheerleaders. But why is it like that? It?s seems to me that this is a
privilege that makes an American school American. And if that?s an American
school, what?s the privilege for a Swedish school? Are there any privileges for
a Swedish school or is it just normal? And what?s normal? Well, I?m thinking a
lot and right now I?m going over to a new subject so this is where I?m stopping
with the school-talk.
The community contains a lot of dwellings too and they are quite old. They are
made of wood or bricks and are looking like usual, a little bit older rentals.
The asphalt on the roads in the ?inner city? aren?t repaired on a while and I
think that it?s looking like it did for over a century ago. We can call it a
well preserved community and I think that?s the point with it. It makes it a
little more mysterious if it?s happening in a small community with only five
polices ? now only the sheriff because of vampire attacks ? who can?t make a
lot for saving everyone.
The reason for the author Lisa to write about Mystic Falls as this
village/community-not-so-very-unlike-Knivsta-place is because it?s easy to make
the story more mysterious and she is using it in a great way. You now the story
get fluffy and puffy with all the descriptions. It?s a great way to make a
story more interesting if you ask me and you?ll get your own picture of how it
is and what it looks alike.
So now you know what I think of Mystic Falls and I still don?t have the answer
of what?s normal. The only thing I actually found out is that something normal
isn?t something unusual.

Shiver - second post

Now I have read a bit longer since my first post and a lot if new
things have happened. I think the book is really good and it gets even
more exciting the more I read!

Grace is very exited about the meeting with her wolf, when she actually
touched him for the first time since they met. She really wants to talk
to somebody about it, but especially since Jack Culpeper got killed by
the wolves she figures that nobody will understand her feelings about
the incident.

Later, at the same day as Grace?s and Sam?s special meeting, the white
she-wolf shows up just outside her window in the dark. She looks at
Grace and seems to warn her from taking contact with Sam, to back of
and leave him alone. Like Sam belongs to her pack and isn?t supposed to
create a close relationship to a human.
I wonder if the whole pack are werewolves, as far as I?ve read it hasn?
t been mentioned in the text. But in Sam?s thoughts he thinks of them
with human names, so I think that the whole pack are werewolves.

One day a young policeman named William Koenig comes to Grace?s class
to talk little about his job. But the class soon discovers that he is a
bit nervous and doesn?t know how to deal with the teenagers, and they
immediately start ask questions about Jack Culpeper?s death. A question
asked by a girl named Elisabeth ? if it?s true that Jack?s body was
stolen from the morgue ? becomes the starting point for many questions
and wild speculations. To me it seems like the pressure from the curios
class and teacher at last make William talk a little bit about the
wolfs.
William says that he doesn?t think that the wolves are a threat to the
population, and when someone points out that Grace also was attacked by
the wolves she dismisses the incident and tries to support the
policeman. Because when people remember the wolves attacked her they
remember it could happen to anyone, and Grace is afraid that someone
will decide to go after them. To go after her wolf.

I really recognize the situation when a new person stands in front of
the class and immediately gets judged. The class maybe behave
themselves in the beginning, but if the person seems nervous and doesn?
t tell them to be quiet when they start talking, they immediately lose
their respect for, in this case, William Koenig.
The writer really make the reader feel petty for him, and the detailed
describing of William make me wonder if he?s going to be important
later in the book.

After school Grace and her best friend Olivia go home to Grace?s place.
Olivia really likes taking photos and shows Grace some of them. One of
them pictures Sam, as a wolf, standing in the forest and looking in the
camera. When Olivia notice Grace?s interest in the picture she gives it
to her.
But even though Olivia is the only one who is near understanding Grace?
s fascination for the wolves Grace can?t talk to her about them with
her like she used to. Somehow the wolves, especially Sam, feel too
personal to talk about now.

Later, when Olivia has returned home, Grace stands outside her house
looking at the woods, she suddenly hears a scream. Somebody is calling
for help, and Grace can swear that it sounds exactly like Jack
Culpeper. But that?s impossible! Jack is dead. Or?
Without thinking she runs into the woods, searching for the source of
the screaming. After a wile she almost runs into three wolvers. She
recognizes two of them, ? the white she-wolf and the pack leader ?, but
the third one, a young male, she has never seen before. Everything
about the new wolf, from the colour of his fur till his hazelcoloured
eyes, reminds Grace of Jack. Her head screams human when she looks at
him.

When Grace discovers the three wolves the pack leader and the white she-
wolf are pouching the younger male and forcing him down to the ground,
but when they see Grace they let him go and runs deeper into the woods.
Grace goes back home, but when she no longer sees the young wolf she
doesn?t know if she just imagined that the wolf and Jack was so alike.

This last part woke up a lot of questions in my head, and I think that
is exactly what the writer wants. Of course, I wander if Jack has
become a werewolf or not, I?ve argument both for and against.
If he is a werewolf, it explains a lot of things: Why a new wolf
suddenly appeared just when Jack Culpeper was ?killed?, why the wolf
and Jack where so alike, why Jack?s body was missing from the morgue
and why Grace heard a scream that sound just like him.

But in that case, I? don?t understand how Grace could hear Jack scream
as a human and in the next second meet him in wolf form. Because
considering what I?ve read before in the book the wolf doesn?t have the
possibility to change form whenever they want, they only become humans
in the summer when it gets wormer and wolves in the winter when it?s
cold.

So if Jack is a werewolf, how could he change form so quickly? Maybe it?
s different when you just became a werewolf? I don?t know yet, but I
think I?ll get the answers when I continue reading!

Guardians of ga'hoole - fourth and last post

Now I have finally read out the book and it was great. I'm thinking of reading the following books alsow!
The things that have happend since the last updating is that they have started to talk to twilight and are
getting to know him better. He is a owl that have very good locatinon and he helped them to find Soren's
and Gilfy's nest. but their parents where'nt there, they where gone. Then they decided that they would go
or fly to ga'hoole, but they don't know if ga'hoole even existe but in their gizzards they know that it is'nt
just a legende it is the truth. On the way to ga'hool Soren find Mrs.P. and she tells him about Kludd and that Egletine
alsow have been taken to St. Aegolius. They alsow meet a burrowing owl in the desert where they found
Mrs. P. his name was Digger and he have lost his family becaus when his parents where away and hunting
it came tow owl's and murder his brother and eated him up! So he hade to run so he would survive.
After that he havet found home. Then Soren knew that if they all five stick together they can make anything
and they started a trip to ga'hoole in hope that their parents would be there.
I still think that the book was great and it hade a good ending. I like all the owl's in the book or just the god owl's^^
Soren is like the little brother that is listening and learning from his bigger sister Gylfie that is smart, funny and cute
and twilight is like their grandpha or something and Digger is like the scared confused little dog, they are not
that in the book but they seems to be like that. The book hade actually a better ending then I thought :D

The wall's name were Hadrian's Wall and are still standing even today.

The haunting of Ellen - fourth and last post

I have now finished the book, which means that I have read to page 156:In the middle of the night when Ellen was asleep she woke up because she heard a ticking sound. She went to look what it was, and once again the clock was ticking. She didn´t know what to do so she went downstairs. There it was a fire in the hearth and a woman was tending a pot that hung over the fire. The women turned around and said something to a white-haired man who was sitting by the fire, paring the figure of a wooden doll with a short-bladed knife. Ellen recognized the man, it was the same man that she had seen in the garden. The man looked up and smiled at her, it was a loving smile. Then the room seemed to shiver… and Ellen felt like she was herself again.

Ellen told Bella about what had happened that night. They supposed that the man and the women must have seen the girl that Ellen had seen in the mirror, and that the girl was their daughter. They were curios and went to Ellen´s room to see if the ghost tried to write something on paper again. The pen twitched and started writing. I could not tell them. Then it took a break and began writing again. My name is Margaret.

The same day Ellen and Violet went to a store to find information about the back house. In the store they met an old man who told them about a fight between Peadar McShane and Sir John Duvalier. The fight ended up with Sir John dead, shot by his own pistol. Ellen didn´t understand what that had to do with their back house, so she asked the old man. He said that McConell, who lived in the house at that time and who´s daughter loved Peadar McShane, hid Peadar McShane in the house while people were looking for him. One night Peadar McShane slipped away, and was cornered on the cliffs…and then the old man said that they knew the rest of the story.

The old man asked why they were so curious about the back house. Then Ellen told him about the pistol that she had found. The old man went away and when he came back he had a pistol with him. On the pistol it stood JD, so they understood that it must be the “partner” to the pistol that they had found. When they were going to leave Violet said that the man must be John Duvalier, and that it was his great-great-grandfather that McShane killed.

Back to Bon Vista Ellen and Violet discussed what they have heard with Bella. They thought that the old man maybe didn´t knew the truth. They thought that Margret hid Peadar McShane without telling her family about it, because the ghost had wrote I could not tell them. They were curious about what Margaret couldn´t tell her parents, so the three girls, Bella, Ellen and Violet tried to have a séance. Under the séance they asked the ghost things…and got answers. What is your second name? Ellen wrote on the paper and the pen started writing McConnell. The pen did a pause then it wrote I did not dieI could not tell them. The girls’ didn´t understand so they asked what? Then the pen wrote Margaret McConnell. Ellen thought and said that she maybe had an idée of what Margaret wanted to tell them.

The next day they went to the cliff again to look at the poem in the stone. Ellen told them that she thought that Peadar McShane didn´t die when he jumped off the cliff. He hid in the cave, where they have found Terence. He must be the one who wrote the poem in the stone, because no one else could know what had happened.  Margaret went to the cliff every day to see him, and people thought that she was mad. One day she didn´t came home so people thought that she had jumped, but she had run away with Peadar McShane. Ellen explained that it must be what Margaret tries to tell them. Her parents thought that she was dead, and she couldn´t tell them where she was going and had bad conscience about it.

To see if Ellen had right they went down to the cave. They found out that it was possible to walk through the cave and it must have been so Margaret and Peadar McShane had
escaped. Ellen felt better now when she knew what Margaret wanted to tell her and that evening the pen wrote Margaret… I sleep. This is what I think of the book:When I had finished the book I was little bit disappointed, because I had hoped that it would happen more things to Ellen, and I don´t know, maybe they could have found I skeleton in the cave. Now it just ends up that Ellen understand the messages’ that they got. So I´m little disappointed. The book started out so good, and I thought that it would be an exciting, unexpected and scary end, but I was wrong.

An other thing that irritated me was that the author didn´t write anything of what year it was, he wrote that the back house was built 1898 (I think).  But he never writs anything of what year it is when Ellen and Bella lives in the house.

The language in the book was rather easy, but some words were different to what I´m used to.

The story reminds me of another book I have read, it is The ghost by the sea by Eileen Dunlop.  That book is also about a ghost in a house, but the story is much more exciting and I would rather recommend it if you want to read a scary story.

Assassin - fourth post

In chapter four in the book Assassin the little boy Owen made it to the roman army's temporary village and stealthed through the whole "village" in the search of the commanders tent.
Owen wanted to kill him with he's knife he took from he's hut. He saw that the commander had two guards infront of his tent and stealthed around them and made a little hole in the tent and slipped through the hole and there he were sleeping... Hadrian, Commander of the army. Owen raised his knife over he's chest and when he was going to make the blow Hadrian stopped him. He had woken up and wrestled down Owen and screamed for his guards.

Assassin - third post

In the third chapter of Assassin Owen and he's father was at a meeting in the tribehall. All the warriors and archers were gathered at the meeting. Some wanted to kill the roman army on the night and other wanted to work it out in a political way. The tribe cheif did not want another great war with the romans so he told everyone that they would sleep on the matter.
Owen took he's knife very silent and the smart little boy slipped out of he's hut and then he slipped out of the village into the forest and ran to the  roman army...

Later in the evening Sookie decides to to visit Merlotte´s as a customer. Who if not Bill walks in to the bar, with another girl...

I like what I have read so far, the book just stays interesting all the time. It is hard to stop at a good place to write about what I have read.

Lee Raven Boy Thief - fourth and last post

Summary of the 100 last pages in - Lee Raven Boy Thief. Last post.

Lee doesn’t live down the manhole anymore. He lives at an old lady called Mrs Larch’s house, Lee think this is kind of weird because he is like hired by this lady. She knows he got the book and what it’s capable to do. What she is trying to do is getting all of the stories written down by Lee. He doesn’t realize what she is trying to do. He is just happy about getting paid just for writing down some stories. But after a while he realizes she just want them to publish them by herself.
Lee escapes from her, with the book.

After the escape Lee meets up his friend Janaki. Janaki is now being suspected as the murderer of Mr Salomon and also as the thief of the book. But the thing is what really happened was that Lee has hidden the book. Far, far away. Lee and Janaki went to the place where Lee has hidden the book. It was under the water in a lake. This place has been a hiding place for Lee’s family for a long time.
When Janaki and Lee was at the hiding place the heard a speedboat approaching. From the boat two people stepped off. One man and one woman, the man was hurt and had blood in his face. Lee and Janaki were able to defend themselves because they had weapons. A moment later a helicopter and a dragon flew down from the sky. Both of them looked dangerous and they aimed their weapons against Lee and Janaki. They won this fight against these creatures and they managed to flee away.

After the fight the book transformed into a man. A big muscular man with brown hair. He smelled like honey and orange. Just like the book. The book has always been a man, but he has never shown himself.

Lee Raven who stole the book in the beginning was actually a part of The book of Nebo in the end of the book . The book that I’ve read starts and ends with the exact same thing.
My thoughts about the book. I think the book has been really weird, you don’t get it at all what’s really happening. Every chapter is from one person’s point of view and that’s getting the story very hard to understand. The descriptions in the book are quite difficult to understand, they are very detailed and long. It’s like you don’t get the story when you are reading them. I’m a bit disappointed of the book, I thought it was going to be more action but instead it was all about the book.

I DON’T RECOMMEND THE BOOK AT ALL. WEIRD BOOK.

I’M OUT, PEACE! // Doris

Stormbreaker - third post

A summary of what I have read
In the afternoon Alex went to eat dinner with Mr Sayle they talked about what Alex think about the "Stormbreaker." After the dinner Alex went to his room to sleep, at one-thirty in the morning alex went out because he had hear that something will arrive. He saw Mr Grin went in, in  a truck. Alex went in to a truck and after a while the truck stopped. He had come to the sea. Something have arrive to the bridge it looked like a big box but he didn't know what it was in it. But then he saw him Yassen Gregorovich, but what was he doing here and why would he be involved in the "Stormbreaker?" Alex didn't know but he would find out what's in the boxes and what Yassen Gregorovich had to do with it. He went home again, and the day after, Nadia came and wake him up, it was his last day to discover the "Stormbreaker." When the clock turned one o'clock Alex had discovered the "Stormbreaker" done and he went out for a walk. And on his walk someone tried to kill him but they failed and Alex went to the library because he new that Ian have come there. He went over to the reception and the women asked if she could help him. Alex asked if se have seen Ian Rider there and she have, he had looking for a book named "Viruses" she said. Then Alex new it.. a computer viruses, but he could have wrong. Ian have also looked after a book named "CL = Cornish local history" she said. It was then Alex remembered it CL 475/19 it was what have been written on the paper he have found from Ian. He found the book and in the book he found a map from under "Sayler Enterprises" and on the paper Ian had write it was the same map but an other way. It was the way in to the room behind the looked door he have found the first day he had been at "Sayler Enterprises."  After he have been on the library he bought some stuff and he started to climb under the ground, he follow the map to he get to the end of it..

What I think about what I have read
I have now read to page 127 and it's quite hard to understand everything but I know what happened anyway. And now not much had happened but it's still very exciting, Because Alex have now discovered what Ian had mean with the paper and he have now gone down in the tunnels and come to the end of the map. Now it's really exciting because I want to know what's behind the door and what Yassen Gregorovich have to do with the "Stormbreaker."

What I think will happen
I think that he will come in to the room that was locked and he will find some kind of viruses in the computer but I really don't know what kind of viruses. But I think that it's some kind of viruses that is dangerous for the people who going to use the "Stormbreaker" and Alex going to save that kind of people.

If I stay - last post

What I have read:
Mia don't wont to see Adam, she thinks it's to hard. She have almost decided that she don't wont to come back. But to see Adam can make it difficult. She don't wont to hurt him, and to see Adam pray for her life is something she don't wont to see or hear.
Adam is standing next to her bed, and take her hand and say to her
"Jesus Mia, your hand is freezing. He stays in the room with Mia in teen minutes then he rush out.
She haves more flashbacks, between her and Adam.
After a long while Adam comes back, she sees that he have been crying. He sit next to Mia's bed.
"Just listen," he says
"stay. There's no word for what happened to you, There's no good side of it. But there is something to live for. And I'm not talking about me. It's just... I don't know. Maybe I'm talking shit. I know I'm in shock. I know I haven't digested what happened to your parents, to teddy..." when he says Teddy, his voice cracks and an avalanche of tears tumbles down his face.
"All I can think about is how fucked up it would be for your life to end here, now. I mean, I know that your life is fucked up no matter what now, for ever. And I'm not dumb enough to think that I can undo that, that anyone can."
" if you stay, I'll do whatever you want." he says
Mia close her eyes. And cover her ears. She cannot watch this. Ans she cannot hear this.
Then something happening. She don't longer looking down on her self. It is she lying there in the bed, and she can feel everything, all the pain, and she can feel Adams hand in hers.
She squeeze Adams hand with all the strength she has.
" Mia? " he asks

The end.

What I think about the book:
The book was very good! The book is one of its kind.
I am a bit disappointed that it just stops there when Mia wakes up. I want to know more what happens after when she wakes up. Her whole family's reactions when they know that Mia has awakened from her coma.
But who knows, maybe it comes another book.
But, overall, I think anyway it was good, will now continue to read the book in Swedish.
